Treasures from Ikea

Last weekend we spent a few hours wandering through Ikea. I love looking at all the Scandanavian goodies, especially the ones pictured above, which remind me so much of my grandmad.

Lefse, especially covered with peanut butter and rolled, was a childhood favorite. And the Danish hearts, while meant to be tiny gift bags, will be repurposed for our Christmas tree. The chocolate is from Sweden. They had a sample AND a coupon, so I couldn't resist!

Lookin' Spiffy (but grumpy)

Chris getting all decked out for his orchestra concert. He looks handsome despite the grumpy expression (laughs).

Trigonometry Lessons

Honors Trigonometry/Algebra II has turned out to be a handful of a class, but CJ's getting lots of help from Wayne. The big whiteboard has turned out to be an excellent tool as well. And notice his shirt--iBone, a word only a group of high school-aged trombone players would commit to clothing. The E39 on the back is Chris's nickname after Wayne's E39 M5 BWM, mostly because Chris couldn't think of anything better to have put on the shirt (laughs). And don't you just LOVE how thrilled he loks (snicker)?

Puppy Spa

The dogs were due for their nail trimming, so we took them to PetSmart for a spa day. They were bathes, trimmed, combed, had their nails done, and got "bow-ed" and "bandana-ed". Lades ditched the bows in short order, but Burgs didn't mind his bandana too much.

It was so sad when we dropped them off. When the girl took Lady, she tucked her tail between her legs, tried to sit so she couldn't be led away, and gave us this incredibly pathetic look over her shoulder as if to say, "How could you?" You'd think she were being taken to the glue factory or something (laughs)!
