The Six Million Dollar Sam

Well not quite thanks to good insurance, but Sammy's doctors finally decided to dig into the cause of Sammy's tiredness and fibro-like pain. Many doctors fail to see fibro as something a child can have. Luckily we finally found a doctor who believes it could be possible since I have it.

In fibromyalgia, there are often sleep issues that intensify one's nerve receptors to pain, and that's what they wanted to evaluate--whether that marker was in Sam's sleep pattern. After hearing all this, I think MY doctors should do a sleep study on me (laughs)!

Anyway, Sam had to stay overnight at a clinic. Since she's a child, a parent had to be with her so they gave me my own room down the hall. Sam was nervous at first, but I brought the digital camera along for laughs and scrapbook spread material. It really helped. I'll report in again after I hear from her doctor.

Woohoo! A High Schooler in the House!

It's official: CJ just received his diploma for graduating Houston Middle School from Principal Mike Morrison! I don't think it's sunk in yet, but it will June 12 when he starts practicing with the Houston High School Marching Band.

Tonight it's off to Outback for a celebratory dinner, and for dessert, shhh..., it's a surprise graduation cake.

New Smile

I debated about whether or not to post my ugly mug here, but here goes...

Turns out many of my medacines attack tooth enamal, and since my enamal was already weak my poor teeth didn't stand a chance. Anyway, this morning, Dr. Mike Pulido (one of the few dentists I actually like) gave me back my smile. It's going to take some getting used to, but it's amazing how far dental medicine has come!

I guess confessing this means I should probably give everyone the low-down on all the medical conditions, but that can wait for another day. I'm just happy to be able to look people in the face again.

Spring Cleaning

We've been outrageously busy with end-of-school parties, concert rehearsals etc., etc. but we took the time on Saturday to clean out the garage and wash one of the cars. We actually wanted to wash both, but it turns out washing a car PROPERLY with lug nut brushes and all takes quite a bit of time (laughs). It takes even MORE time when water fights are involved!

Anyway, we managed to wash the Porsche that so desperately needed it; broke down boxes we no longer needed; moved outgrown bikes into deep storage for a yard sale down the road; threw out old pool floaties...

Yep, it was quite a mess, but we all worked together and discovered that our garage isn't as small as we thought it was! The BMW's wash will come tomorrow I suppose. Anyway, I know this isn't a real exciting post, but I'm using it as an excuse to share some pictures of the biggest car fan in the house.

Coming soon, spring school pictures. You won't wanna miss those, believe me (laughs hysterically)!
