Kidney Infections and Winterguard

Sam's latest kidney infection kept her from performing with her winterguard at competition this weekend, but here are some pics from a recent friends and family casual runthrough. Now they have theie uniforms, so the next pictures will be even more interesting.

Sam the Party Animal

Sam had quite the fun time at Tolo last night. Tolo is Kamiak High School's counterpart to a Sadie Hawkins girls-ask-guys dance. The theme was opposites, so Sam and Nick decided to go as jock and band geek.

Nick picked up Sam around 4:30, then they went to a friend's house for pictures. Turns out a lot of the winterguard and drumline kids went together as a group. They ate dinner, had ice cream, danced, went to Rock and Bowl, then wandered home.

Sam's Rosca de Ruin for Spanish II Class

Sam was to make Rosca de Reyes for her Spanish II class. Unfortunately it didn't turn out so well. Chef Gordon Ramsey would have been cursing away at this burt-yet-raw mess. Sam was none too happy about it either. While putting it in an evidence bag, some of the raw, custardy innards scalded her, giving her blisters all over her hands. Wow. Iron Chef competition, here we come!
